Mixed feelings / Gemischte Gefuehle

So far we had three not-so-good days, yesterday was one of them. Only the Canola fields in the morning were cheering me up.

As you can see it was dry but shortly after, heavy rain and headwinds were making our lives difficult. At the next gas station it finally happened. We couldn’t fill up, The tank seemed to be overflowing. With a lot of patience and after 1/2 hour, the tank was filled but we knew we had a problem to fix, Friday afternoon in a small Canadian town. There was a garage that was willing to look at it right away. I didn’t feel too good at this moment. This wasn’t a small problem and I already saw myself stranded for a week, waiting for a spare part. SlowMo was brought into the shop and hoisted before I could grab the camera. Too bad, no pictures. Stephen and the mechanic assessed the problem, nothing was clogged but appearently the tank filler inlet was "suddenly too long". There was no good or even bad explanation for that and I got a very strange feeling when Stephen explained that they would just cut the filler inlet up, remove a 3in section and weld it back together. I wouldn’t have trusted the mechanic alone, but I trust Stephen completely to make the right decision. And so it was done: cut out, weld and fit. The mechanic was beaming when we left. We weren’t sure! First we had to empty the tank and fill up again.
The repair was successful, the next fill-up took the usual 2min.
Even though everything was fine in the end, I felt beat and we didn’t really make miles. I hope for tomorrow to be a better day!
