We drove almost all roads that Stephen and Elgin originally planned to ride on their motorcycles. The Top Of The World Highway between Chicken and Dawson City (Yukon) stays on top of the mountains and doesn't disappear into the valleys. Almost 200km of enjoyment. Beautiful, I loved it.
Die meisten Strassen, die wir gefahren sind, hatte Stephen mit Elgin zusammen fuers Motorradfahren geplant. Die Strecke zwischen Chicken und Dawson City hat mir besonders gut gefallen.
Auf dem The Top Of The World Highway faehrst du beinahe 200km nur auf den Bergspitzen. Ich fand das toll!

Crossing the Klondike River.
Uberquerung des Klondike Flusses.
Dawson City was the main settlement of the Klondike Gold Rush in Canada at the end of the last century. A visit to the Dawson City Museum showed how hard life really was during those times.. Dawson City was crowded with gold diggern back then and also harbored people that knew how to make money. There were also those that found the gold in the river while doing their laundry! I should have tried that rather than using the campgrounds laundry room.
Gleich danach Dawson City, die Stadt die im letzten Jahrhundert ueberfuellt war mit Goldsuchern und Menschen. die wussten, daraus ein Geschaeft zu machen. Es gab aber auch welche (wie ich im Museum gelernt habe), die haben ihr Gold einfach beim Waesche waschen am Fluss gefunden. Haette ich vielleicht auch mal probieren sollen, anstelle des Waschsalons auf dem Campingplatz.
